The Windows Mobile OS can be connected to your computer in order to manage your smartphone from your computer. To synchronize your mobile with the computer, there are softwares known as ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center.
For Windows XP and lower versions:
The ActiveSync software can be used on the computers running on Windows XP or lower versions of Windows OS. The ActiveSync is to be downloaded and installed on your computer. If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7 on your computer as your operating system, then, for synchronizing your mobile phone with the computer you need the Windows Mobile Device Center. Windows Mobile Device Center is the software that works just like the ActiveSync works. Firstly, you have to download and install this software on your computer. Next what you have to do is connect your mobile phone to the PC using an USB cord. Once you have done this, you can transfer audio, video, text and all other types of files from your computer to the mobile phone and vice-versa. The software also searches for updates and offers for the applications on your phone and helps you install them. You can download and install new applications on your mobile from the computer terminal using this software. You can send and receive messages on your mobile through the computer. Same is the case with phone calls and also with emails. You can take a backup of all your data stored in your mobile phone’s memory on your computer using Windows Mobile Device Center.
Both these softwares, ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center work very efficiently to manage your Windows mobile smartphones from your PC.
